Training with Walter Castro

From July 19 to 23, Walter Castro will be in Belgium to share his experience with us. In Florida, over a hundred churches operate without a pastor, relying entirely on volunteer lay members. So Walter regularly visits the churches to offer advice to the laypeople in charge of running the church.

In Belgium and Luxembourg, the situation is different, as many churches can count on the support of a pastor. However, some may go for long periods without a regular pastor, leaving them to find their own way.

Walter Castro’s visit is therefore not intended to train lay members with the aim of one day seeing our churches function without a pastor, but rather to support local leaders who, due to the circumstances inherent to our Federation, are already left to manage on their own sometimes. Of course, this training is also open to anyone who simply wishes to improve their skills as a local leader.

Another aspect of his training that comes up in the second module is “Mission”. In this area too, Walter Castro has a wealth of expertise and experience that will surely touch and equip all those committed to sharing the Gospel.

More concretely, four training courses are planned:

Friday evening July 19 in Brussels, 3rd floor E. Allarstreet 11, from 7 to 9 pm (in Spanish only): “Contextualizacíon del evangelio”
– Sabbath afternoon, July 20 in Brussels, 3rd floor E. Allardstreet 11, from 2 to 4 pm (in English with translation to French): “How to be a church with a missionary mindset?”
Sunday, July 21 in Luxembourg (in Spanish with translation to French and German): “How to be a church with a missionary mindset?”
Tuesday, July 23 in Brussels, 4th floor E. Allardstreet 11, from 10 am to 4 pm with the pastoral staff (in English): “How to be a volunteer lay pastor?:
