From November 29 to December 1, more than 180 pastors, elders, evangelism leaders, and other members passionate about this topic gathered on the beautiful campus of Collonges.
This meeting was the result of a collaboration between the Belgian-Luxembourg Federation, the South France Federation, the Swiss Romande Federation, the Collonges Faculty of Theology, and the Franco-Belgian Union.
The principle was both simple and ambitious: to hold a roundtable on different approaches to evangelism and to share feelings, analyses, evaluations, and future prospects through collective intelligence. Not to mention the moments of prayer, reflection, meditation, and fellowship that revitalized the gathering.
From the Belgian-Luxembourg side, 35 participants made the trip. Here are some of their comments:
I believe the meeting was informative and comprehensive. Many aspects of evangelism were considered, helping pastors and members learn new ways of approaching it.
If my observation was correct and my heart truthful, we had pastors full of love and humility, some of them quite young yet wise and intelligent, speaking at times with humor while conveying profound messages.
It was truly enriching to reflect with so many brothers and sisters on the importance and necessity of evangelism.
This was new to me, especially the different programs and mission approaches. It pushed me out of my comfort zone.
It was also an opportunity for me to discover this wonderful site of Collonges-sous-Salève, a place rich in history. We also had the privilege of visiting the museum of Adventist history in Europe. An unforgettable experience!
In the coming weeks, several documents will be made available in the ‘Formation’ tab: the results of the preparatory survey, the Friday presentations on the foundations and challenges of the mission, the summaries of the Saturday afternoon workshops, the already completed projects presented on Saturday evening, and finally, the key points highlighted by the participants.
Let us once again thank the Federation for sponsoring the stay of most participants. It was a significant but important financial investment. Some are already dreaming of Assises 2.0. Why not…
