Adventurers’s day in Nivelles

On March 22nd, the church of Nivelles was filled with the laughter and enthusiasm of Adventurers from Belgium and Luxembourg, gathered for an unforgettable federal day. Organized by the Youth Department, this event brought together 99 participants from the Spanish-speaking group, Brussels, La Louvière, Mersch, Namur, and Thulin.

The day focused on the prophet Elijah. The children began with a Sabbath school session about the story of the widow of Zarephath, accompanied by a craft activity to help them keep a tangible reminder of the theme. This was followed by a praise session and a meditation, during which the Adventurers experienced the elements described in 1 Kings 19:9-13: the storm, the earthquake, the fire, and finally, the gentle breeze symbolizing God’s presence.

After a picnic meal, the children enjoyed a recreational outdoor session, again linked to Elijah’s story. The outdoor activity was a game throughout the city of Nivelles, featuring different stations and fun challenges retracing the main stages of Elijah’s journey.

At the end of the day, they shared a snack before heading home, their hearts filled with joy and their minds full of precious memories.

One thing is certain: this day was a success! The Adventurers had a rich experience where they heard and felt that God accompanies them in both good and challenging times, with power and gentleness.
