On March 15th, Global Youth Day, the International Church of Brussels experienced a day of service and solidarity, where the entire church—children, youth, and adults—came together to bring hope and love to the community.
Each member was invited to join an activity based on their gifts. The activities included book distribution and home visits, especially to the sick, where words of encouragement and moments of prayer were shared. The youth also brought joy through their music at a nursing home, offering companionship and smiles to those in need.
One of the most significant moments was the act of solidarity toward people experiencing homelessness. Thanks to the support of ADRA, which provided its food truck, nearly 100 people received a hot meal along with hygiene kits containing essential items such as soap, toothbrushes, and other basic products. This gesture not only met a physical need but also conveyed a message of care and dignity.
In a symbolic act, the youth carried out a flower-for-cigarette exchange, promoting healthier habits, and also delivered cards and gifts to neighbors, strengthening community bonds.
It was a magnificent experience, where each participant had the opportunity to personally experience the joy of serving and reflecting God’s love through concrete actions. May this spirit of service continue to inspire our church!
