“Are You Yourself When You Speak?”: MIFEM Day in Hainaut

On Sabbath, September 12, 2026, in the town of Hautrage, we had the opportunity to take part in a wonderful day with 27 women, centered on a theme that ultimately concerns us all in one way or another: “Are You Yourself When You Speak?”

A theme that may seem simple at first glance, but one that leads us to reflect on how we relate to others. Are we truly ourselves when we speak? Do we sometimes wear “masks” in social situations to be accepted, to appear stronger, to hide certain emotions, or simply out of fear of how others perceive us? These questions sparked some very meaningful discussions.
In our lives, we sometimes tend to want to control everything, to show that everything is fine, and to wear different “masks” depending on the situation—so moments like this are truly refreshing.

We were delighted to welcome Pastor Isabelle Raucy, whose presence greatly enriched this gathering. The various moments of sharing and testimonies were particularly enriching: some women were able to talk about things they don’t necessarily have the opportunity to share in their daily lives. Being able to put their experiences into words, to be listened to without judgment, and to realize that others may be going through similar situations can be truly liberating.

These testimonies gave the day a very authentic feel. It wasn’t just about participating in activities or having a good time, but also about listening to one another, understanding one another, and supporting one another. There was something truly beautiful about seeing that each woman could come with her own story, experiences, strengths, and challenges.

Of course, the day wasn’t just about conversation. Several activities had been prepared for us, in a friendly atmosphere full of good cheer. I especially enjoyed learning how to create a journal with Jesus. I found this activity very interesting and original. It was an opportunity to

reflect on our relationship with Jesus, to take a moment for ourselves, and to keep a record of our journey, our thoughts, our prayers, and even the things we want to entrust to Him. The activity also allowed us to leave with something personal that we can continue to use later on. It was a lovely way to extend the experience of that afternoon a little into our daily lives.

And because a wonderful gathering is also made special by small gestures, we received some lovely gifts! A little surprise that truly brought joy and allowed us to leave with a tangible memento of this time we shared together.

Beyond the activities, testimonials, and gifts, I think what really made this afternoon a success was the atmosphere. There was a lot of simplicity, laughter, kindness, and good cheer. We were able to talk, learn, listen to others, share a bit of our story, and simply enjoy this time together as women.

This day gave us the opportunity to reflect not only on how we relate to others, but also on our relationship with ourselves and with Jesus. Behind the facades and masks we may wear in our daily lives, there are simply women with their own stories, joys, questions, and struggles. And being able to share all of this in an atmosphere of trust is truly enriching.

Personally, I really enjoyed this gathering. I appreciated our guest speaker, the activities, the testimonies, the conversations, and above all, the incredibly warm atmosphere. The opportunity to speak freely and simply be ourselves, without having to pretend. It was a time when we could reflect, learn, laugh, share, and leave with something positive.

A wonderful day that also reminds us of the importance of making time for one another. So yes, let’s do this more often! Because it was truly great, enriching, and, for some, perhaps even a little liberating. ❤️

A big thank you to everyone who helped organize this wonderful gathering and to all those who dared to share a little bit of themselves.
