On June 14, despite an overcast sky but with summer-like temperatures, the church in Antwerp decided to step outside its walls and hold a worship service outdoors. More than a hundred people were thus able to praise God in the midst of His creation.
Praise, of course, comes through music, and the technical team worked hard to ensure the praise band could accompany the singing. Thirza van den Broek then captivated the children with a story about a tree – a theme she later chose to expand upon for the adults. And what better setting to reflect on such a topic than under the shade of a magnificent tree, which also sheltered the participants from a few raindrops.
At noon, everyone enjoyed a variety of delicious sandwiches while chatting in a friendly atmosphere and making the most of this warm and welcoming Sabbath. The day concluded with a dessert buffet.
