This Sabbath, June 7, the International Church of Brussels had the joy of holding a baptism ceremony. After a few praise songs, Pastor David Carballo offered a reflection on the theme of the desert. The desert into which the Israelites entered after their symbolic ‘baptism’ in the Red Sea. The desert as a place of trials, but also a time of introspection, refocusing on what is essential, and of spiritual formation. A place conducive to genuine encounters. And let us not forget that God remains by our side despite the difficulties, despite the deserts in our lives…
After this meaningful sermon, the six baptism candidates were introduced and expressed their desire to continue their journey with Christ. Four of them will contribute their talents to the Ghanaian group in Brussels; the other two will join the International Church of Brussels, alongside another person who joined by profession of faith.
Following the baptisms performed by Pastors David Carballo and Tibor Szilvasi, many songs were sung, allowing the congregation to express their joy and welcome the new members.
May God bless these individuals in their journey of faith and the communities that will accompany them.
