Baptism Ceremony

There weren’t ten of them…

They were five. They were not alone. The church of Thulin, plus their families, plus friends from other churches were with them. They weren’t invited, they invited us and we were delighted.

Having said that, it was a question of water, not the water of a heavenly beach, but the water where we immerse ourselves to be born to a new life. Not a life where you lie in the sun waiting for the hotel clerks to come and serve you, but a life where service is the norm and love is the essence of relationships and actions.

There were five of them: Laureen, Brandon, Oscar, Kalala and Michel (not Marc – mind you), and they publicly gave their lives to Jesus in baptism on Saturday 12 October in the beautiful church in Nivelles. Thank you to them for inviting us, for allowing us to be part of this huge spiritual celebration.

There weren’t ten of them, but we’re working and praying that the other five will show up soon. And then some more. And more!
